If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese experience, look no further. Da Tang has been serving Northern Chinese Cuisine for the past 14 years. Northern Chinese food is distinct from what most western people think of a 'Chinese food.' It has a different style and a very different flavour. Many travellers have been delighted and surprised to find this little gem in the heart of Galway’s Latin Quarter. We serve healthy, wholesome, tasty Chinese. Our chefs, Du Han Tuo and Su Kai both come from Lanzhou in North West China, which is the home of La Mien (handmade noodle). Wheat is the basic grain of the North and is made into a variety of products including noodles, dumplings and steamed breads. At the noodle house, we will show you how authentic Chinese Noodle dishes should look, and taste. Join the restaurant’s loyal clientele and enjoy home-made noodle, infamous dumpling (Jiaozi), hot-pot, stir-fry and rice dishes with your choice of meat, salads and vegetables in a simple, intimate setting – Du Han Tuo’s art and calligraphy grace the walls, evocative of a very real China.
Local, Organic Flavours
Da Tang prides itself on using local produce and organic vegetables where possible. We make our noodles fresh every day, with all dishes cooked to order using local and organinc ingredients where possible with no additional artificial flavour enhancers, such as MSG. Choose from our organic, low-sulphite wine list (kinder to both health and wealth), or extensive organic tea list and if you haven’t tasted it before, check out some of our Chinese beer or Japanese sake.
Food Fit for All
At Da Tang we offer a wide range of gluten-free options, (rice noodles, Mung Bean Noodles etc…) if you have a word with Catherine O’Brien (owner/manager), or any of the friendly servers about your dietary requirements, we will cook food especially for your needs.
